Bermie Dizon

Bermie Dizon has dedicated over 40 years to ministry as a pastor with Grace Communion International, serving in both the Philippines and the United States. His journey began in the Philippines in 1984, where he worked as a Ministerial Intern in Quezon City and Bulacan, later pastoring congregations in San Fernando, Pampanga; Tarlac; Cabanatuan; Angeles City; and Olongapo City. In 1992, he moved to Mindanao, ministering to communities in Davao City, Tagum, Kidapawan, General Santos City, and Digos.

In 1996, Bermie transitioned to ministry in the United States, starting as an associate pastor in Pasadena, CA. He helped establish a new church, NewLife, while simultaneously pastoring the Los Angeles congregation until 2019. His final years of full-time ministry were dedicated to the Beaumont and Glendora congregations before he retired in January 2024.

Throughout his pastoral journey, Bermie has encountered the joys, challenges, and surprises that come with a life of faith. His deep love for Jesus Christ fuels his compassion and commitment, extending beyond his home church to believers from diverse backgrounds. Bermie’s passion for writing devotionals springs from this same love, weaving personal stories and spiritual reflections that offer warmth and wisdom to anyone seeking a closer relationship with God.

Now in retirement, Bermie volunteers as an ESL teacher with the San Gabriel Valley Literacy Council, an outreach that brings him immense joy. He remains an active member of Grace Communion Glendora and continues to share sermons with neighboring churches. He also dedicated five years to serving the homeless community near the Duarte riverbed, providing meals, hygiene items, clothing, and other essentials. He is presently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of a non-profit organization, UJCC (United For Jesus Christian Community, Inc.)

Bermie is happily married to Carmelita, a home health nurse. Together, they have four children and their spouses — Ben and Cassie, Carmel and Mat, Abel and Gelli, and David and Holli — as well as five beloved grandchildren: Mia, Urijah, Eli, Theo, and Zoe. Family is at the heart of Bermie’s life. He cherishes every moment spent with. his grandchildren, whether visiting them or welcoming them home.

In his spare time, Bermie enjoys biking with friends and exploring Southern California’s scenic trails, sometimes with his wife by his side. He’s also an enthusiastic home cook, delighting in preparing dishes from around the world.
Through this devotional book, Bermie invites you to join him on a journey of faith, sharing in his love for Jesus and discovering God’s presence in every step of life’s path.
